Job Description

  • As a full Board and Commercial Committee member, influence both the commercial and the strategic direction
  • Make strategic decisions, e.g. investments within the Board
  • Determine the Merchandise strategy on the 4 P's: product, price, place (merchandising), and promotion, considering full market, product, customer and competitor data and trends, and based on this formulate corrective actions and growth plans
  • Drive the Corporate Concepts on merchandising / layout
  • Ensure expansion strategy for country with regard to assortment
  • Provide expertise knowledge about Common Range and support the development of joint international sourcing
  • Initiate and implement marketing drives and events with the Customer Management and Operations functions
  • Consider legal aspects in the country.
  • Build up and maintain business relationships with other principals, suppliers and governmental authorities and institutions
  • Develop individuals within the function to achieve their maximum potential through a process of feedback and specific development plans and programs
  • Provide vision, develop short & long term strategies, set objectives to achieve targeted / budgeted turnover, margin, total profit and throughput for all categories offered
  • Optimize financial efficiency based on target, e.g. Networking Capital (Stock, Payment) and Free Cash Flow
  • Ensure product availability through effective stock / old stock management and supplier partnership development
  • Full P&L responsibility

The Successful Applicant

Expected candidate should obtain a Bachelor's Degree or above with 20 years of working experience within consumer sectors and 10 years at managerial role.

He/ she should have advanced knowledge of product and category offer and merchandising principles, methods and processes, e.g. in range and assortment building, excellent expertise in product sourcing and supplier management, developing and budget planning for brands acquiring.

He/she should be familiar with financial management, good understanding about trading locally and internationally

The person should be able to communicate fluently in English, strong stakeholders management and negotiation skills, entrepreneurial and assertive
