Job Description

  • Develop a sound understanding of both the exhibition industry as well as portfolio industry needs and the future direction of each
  • Develop effective strategic plans to grow existing events, diversify risk and establish new opportunities
  • Develop budgets in line with performance and growth requirements that drive revenues and control expenditure in order to produce the required contributions and margins
  • Maintain a vigilant focus on the performance of the business and take swift remedial action where needed to ensure delivery against established targets/milestones
  • Proactively drive business development opportunities through new sector growth and/or new launches as part of the company growth strategy
  • Deliver effective solutions for customers (visitor and exhibitor), ensuring strong customer growth, engagement and retention
  • Establish, maintain and develop strong and positive working relationships with key partners, stakeholders, customers, associations and within government
  • Drive progressive marketing approaches
  • Drive and lead the importance of the people culture and ensure initiatives are created and implemented to leverage our talent
  • Provide sound but supportive leadership to the local management team, holding them accountable for their role in helping to set the course for the business and steer it to achieve strategic, commercial and budgetary objectives
  • Drive a culture of innovation by ensuring that the business is continually challenging the status quo, providing unique customer solutions, harnessing new technologies, implementing initiatives and daring to be different
  • Play a leading role in advancing the standing of both the business and the exhibition industry through industry engagement, participation and advocacy
  • Ensure effective implementation of global business initiatives and directives

The Successful Applicant

  • 5 or more years' experience in a whole of business leadership role
  • Experience managing a commercially driven, multi-faceted business
  • Experience in an MNC/Corporate setting
  • Proven ability to lead, drive and deliver business growth, strategy and results
  • Innovative sales and marketing expertise gained from diverse industry experience
  • Progressive leadership style
  • Experience in managing key commercial relationships
  • Unquestionable integrity and ethics in both business operations and leadership
