Our client is a large global home furnishings business that designs, produces, and sells a wide range of residential furniture through tightly connected manufacturing, distribution, and retail operations.

Job Description

  1. Vendor Quality Management
  • Deploying factories experiencing significant quality performance issues to lead corrective action initiatives.
  • Conduct comprehensive audits of vendor products, processes, packaging, and loading standards to ensure compliance with quality requirements.
  • Execute ship/stop-ship decisions when required to protect company standards and customer satisfaction.
  • Lead root cause analysis (RCA), PDCA, and A3 problem-solving activities to eliminate systemic defects.
  • Develop and monitor corrective action plans and provide structured reporting back to the Quality Director for review and alignment.
  • Assess vendor manufacturing capabilities and match production capacity with product requirements.
  • Evaluate responsible manufacturing practices and identify operational gaps.
  • Utilize performance metrics and defect trend analysis to prioritize risk areas and drive targeted improvement efforts.
  1. Cross-Functional Quality Project Collaboration
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Engineering, Product Development, Sourcing, Operations, CI, and Regional Offices) to manage and execute quality improvement projects.
  • Lead or participate in project teams (2-5 members or more) focused on strengthening quality systems and manufacturing controls.
  • Influence vendor and internal management teams to adopt effective quality control systems and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Develop action plans with stakeholders to close process gaps and enhance operational efficiency.
  • Prepare formal reports and presentations for senior management summarizing findings, risk assessments, corrective actions, and project progress.
  • Track and report improvements using established Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).

The Successful Applicant

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Operations Management, Quality, or related field preferred
  • Equivalent combination of education and relevant factory/quality experience accepted
  • 5+ years of Quality Engineering, Quality Assurance, or Continuous Improvement experience
  • Experience working directly with manufacturing vendors preferred
  • Experience in factory audits, corrective action management, and structured problem-solving methodologies required
  • Exposure to quality reporting systems and data analytics tools (Power BI preferred)
  • Continuous Improvement methodologies (PDCA, A3, Root Cause Analysis)
  • Process control systems and manufacturing quality standards
  • Quality KPIs and performance metrics
  • Risk assessment and project prioritization
  • Digital reporting systems and dashboard development
  • Native or near-native English skills; Chinese skills will be a plus
