As a trusted Head of Finance, you will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, department heads, and executive leadership to provide valuable financial guidance and analysis.

Job Description

Financial Management:

  • Devise and implement financial strategies, budgets, and plans in alignment with the school's objectives.
  • Monitor and analyze financial performance, providing regular reports and recommendations to school management and the board.
  • Supervise all financial transactions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger activities.
  • Ensure adherence to relevant financial regulations, laws, and reporting requirements.
  • Oversee cash flow, treasury functions, and banking relationships.



Accounting and Reporting:

  • Lead the accounting team and oversee the accurate and timely preparation of financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
  • Conduct regular audits to maintain the integrity and accuracy of financial records.
  • Offer financial analysis and insights to support decision-making processes.
  • Collaborate with external auditors, tax advisors, and regulatory bodies as needed.



School Facilities Management:

  • Manage the maintenance, repair, and enhancement of school facilities, ensuring a safe, functional, and conducive learning environment.
  • Oversee facility budgets, vendor contracts, and the procurement of necessary supplies and equipment.
  • Coordinate with relevant stakeholders to ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.



Purchasing and Procurement:

  • Develop and implement procurement policies and procedures to facilitate cost-effective purchasing of goods and services.
  • Manage vendor relationships, negotiate contracts, and evaluate supplier performance.
  • Monitor inventory levels, control costs, and implement measures to streamline procurement processes.



Team Leadership and Development:

  • Lead and develop a high-performing finance team, providing guidance, mentorship, and professional development opportunities.
  • Foster a collaborative and positive work environment, promoting teamwork, knowledge sharing, and continuous improvement.

The Successful Applicant

  • At least 10 years' experience in accounting/finance related field, preferably with 4-5 years in a managerial position.
  • Progressive expertise in financial, accounting, and operations management, ideally in an educational institution or a similar setting.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead a team during periods of significant change.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to build strong relationship and work with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Strong communication and leadership qualities, coupled with a genuine passion for education and organizational elevation.
