Save Job Back to Search Job Description Summary Similar JobsSenior role advising international clients on Vietnam FDI and corporate mattersLeadership position within an international law firm with strong market exposureAbout Our ClientOur client is a Vietnam-based international law firm comprising a strong team of foreign and locally qualified lawyers and tax advisors, advising on foreign direct investment, cross-border corporate and commercial transactions, regulatory and compliance matters, and dispute resolution.Job DescriptionKey Professional ExpertiseThe successful candidate will have a proven track record in advising clients on complex foreign investment matters in Vietnam, particularly in:Vietnamese Corporate Law (Enterprise Law and Investment Regulations)Regulatory and Compliance matters affecting foreign-invested enterprisesKey ResponsibilitiesProvide high-quality legal advisory services to international and foreign-invested clients.Advise clients on all legal matters relevant to foreign-invested entities and their operations in Vietnam.Liaise with relevant governmental authorities on licensing, regulatory approvals, and troubleshooting matters.Communicate with clients, counterparties, suppliers, and other stakeholders as required.Independently manage legal (and tax-related) projects.Lead, supervise, and mentor junior to mid-level lawyers and tax advisors.Review and control the quality of legal advice and work products delivered by the team.Train junior lawyers in both practical and theoretical aspects of advisory and transactional work.Perform additional legal and management tasks as required by firm leadership.Represent the firm in the market and contribute to business development and client acquisition initiatives.The Successful ApplicantCandidate RequirementsA Vietnamese-qualified senior lawyer with 12-15 years of post-qualification experience, preferably gained in an international or cross-border legal environment. Prior experience with an international law firm is highly desirable.Mandatory qualifications include:Degree from a reputable Vietnamese university.Admission to the Vietnam Bar (additional foreign bar admission is an advantage).Demonstrated experience handling complex cross-border legal matters.Excellent written and spoken Vietnamese and English (additional language skills are an asset).Strong leadership and people management skills.Ability to work effectively in international and multicultural teams.High levels of professionalism, integrity, and client-focus.Self-motivated, proactive, and able to take ownership of matters.Ability to manage multiple matters under pressure and meet deadlines.Willingness to make a long-term commitment to the firm and its clients.Preferred Practice Area ExperienceExperience in the following areas of business law is highly desirable:Foreign investment and enterprise law (Vietnam FDI)Mergers and acquisitionsCommercial and enterprise lawLabor and employment lawReal estate, construction, and land use rightsEnterprise establishment and licensing proceduresInternational arbitration and litigationIntellectual property and trademark lawTax and customs regulationsImport/export proceduresCompetition and antitrust lawPPP and infrastructure lawEnvironmental lawWhat's on OfferIf you are a senior Vietnam-qualified lawyer seeking a high-impact role advising international clients and shaping complex cross-border work, this is an exciting opportunity for you.
