Job Description

Your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Making key daily commercial decisions to create value for the company and guide the team in achieving business objectives.
  • Establishing and maintaining strong relationships with both customers and suppliers (specifically in the F&B sectors), facilitating the countertrading flow of food ingredients
  • Leading efforts to increase the sales and purchase volumes of FI products, maximizing profitability within the country.
  • Driving the acquisition of new customers, working proactively to expand the customer base and increase company profitability.
  • Managing both physical risk positions to mitigate potential financial exposure.
  • Staying informed about regional supply and demand trends in the FI sector and communicating market intelligence to global teams.
  • Working closely with regional key stakeholders including but not limited to FI team, trade finance, accounting, operations, and trading desks, to ensure smooth operations and aligned business strategies.
  • Maintaining close contact with the market risk team to ensure counterparty risks are controlled and aligned with company policies.
  • Collaborating with the local trade execution and finance teams to ensure the accurate recording and reporting of P&L information.
  • Providing regular insights on market demand, client performance, and relevant supply and demand data to support the company's strategic objectives.

The Successful Applicant

  • Solid understanding of INCOTERMS, credit risk and trade financing.
  • Expansive network of clients and suppliers in the Vietnamese Food & Beverage space.
  • University education desirable, degree preferably obtained in either economics, mathematics or business studies.
  • Fluency in English (corporate language) and Vietnamese is essential, and a good understanding of any other language is considered a valuable asset.
  • Minimum 10 to 15 years in business development and domestic trading in Vietnam, preferably familiar with B2B supply chain.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of domestic and international markets.
  • Preferably has good research and data analytics skills.
  • Proven ability to work within a team-based work environment, focused on transparent and frank communication.
  • A great individual contributor with self-motivating passion that requires minimum supervision.
  • Strong pipeline and inventory management skills, as well as forecasting future demand.
  • Knowledge and previous management of commodity, packaging, energy and/or other ingredients and foreign exchange hedging.
  • Experience in developing new markets is desired.
  • Accountable for purchase, sales and marketing.
  • Cursory knowledge of controlling and accounting concepts is preferred.
