Job Description

As a Head of R&D, your main responsibilities will include:

  • Lead and develop the R&D team, including Project Managers, Engineers, and Laboratory teams.
  • Drive new product development and technical projects, ensuring delivery on time, within budget, and to required quality standards.
  • Manage the R&D project portfolio, identifying risks and implementing corrective actions to ensure successful project execution.
  • Oversee the full product development lifecycle, from concept and feasibility studies through validation, launch, and project closure.
  • Ensure products meet performance, safety, certification, and cost targets while maintaining manufacturability.
  • Allocate and manage R&D resources, equipment, and project investments effectively.
  • Lead project reviews and provide regular progress updates to local and regional leadership teams.
  • Drive value engineering, cost optimization, and technical standardization initiatives to improve product competitiveness.
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, suppliers, global R&D stakeholders, and external certification bodies.
  • Strengthen local R&D capabilities, promote continuous improvement, and ensure compliance with company development processes and sustainability objectives..

The Successful Applicant

A successful Head of R&D should have:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or related Engineering disciplines.
  • 10+ years of engineering experience, including 5+ years in New Product Development (NPD).
  • Proven leadership experience managing R&D or engineering teams.
  • Background in consumer goods, home appliances, or small domestic appliances.
  • Strong project management skills with a focus on quality, cost, and timeline delivery.
  • Knowledge of product development, testing, certification, and engineering best practices (e.g., FMEA).
  • Strong stakeholder management and cross-functional collaboration skills.
  • Strategic mindset with the ability to drive innovation and team development.
  • Strong English communication skills, with experience collaborating with regional and global teams.
