The person will lead the APAC accounting function based in Vietnam, with hands-on responsibility for the full accounting cycle, regional financial reporting, and statutory compliance. The role requires a Chief Accountant certificate and the seniority, technical expertise, and leadership presence to manage and develop a regional accounting team.

Job Description

  • Own end-to-end accounting operations for the APAC region (Singapore, Hong Kong, Vietnam, Thailand)
  • Deliver accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting under VAS, IFRS, and local GAAP
  • Oversee general ledger, balance sheet reconciliations, and month-end close aligned with group timelines
  • Manage intercompany transactions, consolidation entries, and regional fixed asset accounting
  • Lead treasury activities including cash flow monitoring and banking relationships
  • Provide oversight of regional payroll processes across APAC
  • Ensure full tax and statutory compliance in partnership with the Regional Tax team (CIT, VAT, FCT, PIT)
  • Coordinate external audits and manage statutory audit processes across jurisdictions
  • Monitor regulatory, tax, and accounting standard changes across APAC markets
  • Lead, develop, and performance-manage a regional accounting team of up to 5 staff
  • Act as a finance business partner, providing insights, controls improvement, and process optimisation
  • Support budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis with high-quality financial data

The Successful Applicant

  • Bachelor's degree or above in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline
  • Chief Accountant Certificate - mandatory
  • Minimum 8-10 years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 3 years in a management or supervisory role
  • Deep technical knowledge of Vietnamese Accounting Standards (VAS), tax regulations, and Labour Law
  • Proven track record of managing in-house payroll independently
  • Experience with regional or multi-entity accounting across APAC
  • Proficiency in accounting ERP software (SAP experience preferred)
  • Strong command of written and spoken English for regional reporting and stakeholder communication
