Job Description

As a Supplier Development Engineer, your main responsibilities will include:

  • Evaluating supplier performance and driving improvements to meet quality standards.
  • Collaborating with suppliers to ensure compliance with manufacturing processes and specifications.
  • Developing and implementing supplier quality assurance programs.
  • Conducting on-site supplier audits and providing constructive feedback.
  • Identifying and mitigating risks in the supplier network.
  • Partnering with internal teams to ensure seamless integration of supplier components into production.
  • Driving cost-saving initiatives without compromising quality.
  • Maintaining documentation and reports related to supplier performance and improvements.

The Successful Applicant

A successful Supplier Development Engineer should have:

  • Proficiency in quality management systems and auditing processes.
  • Hands‑on experience in PCBA manufacturing.
  • Strong knowledge of SMT processes.
  • Willingness and ability to travel frequently to supplier sites.



Preferred Experience & Skills

  • Experience with SPC, Six Sigma, or Lean manufacturing methodologies.
  • Proven success leading production ramp‑ups for high‑volume electronics manufacturing.
  • Strong understanding of PCBA failure modes, defect analysis, and quality tools.
  • Experience in failure analysis and data‑driven disposition of hardware.
  • 5+ years of experience in SMT engineering and/or Final Assembly, Test, and Packout environments.
  • Exposure to advanced SMT technologies.
  • Knowledge of environmental and reliability testing for consumer or industrial electronics.
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple suppliers in fast‑paced environments.
