The Estimator / Quoting Engineer is responsible for developing accurate and competitive cost estimates for gas line weldments and precision fabrication projects, primarily serving the semiconductor industry. This role plays a critical part in quotation, sourcing, and planning activities by translating customer requirements and engineering data into reliable cost models.

About Our Client

Our client is American company having the office in HCMC and Factory in Binh Duong.

Job Description

  • Prepare detailed cost estimates based on BOMs for new products, supporting the Pricing team in setting competitive prices.
  • Work with the Project Management team to negotiate prices, MOQ, delivery schedules, and payment terms with suppliers.
  • Identify cost-saving opportunities and risks, and provide recommendations to improve product profitability.
  • Prepare monthly reports on sales, costs, and business performance.
  • Analyze standard costs versus actual costs and investigate significant cost variances.
  • Review factory cost sheets to validate costs and support purchasing decisions.
  • Develop and maintain product buy costs based on customer requirements, BOMs, and technical specifications.
  • Monitor cost changes and assess their impact on margins and profitability.
  • Collaborate with Merchandising, Production, Technical, and Purchasing teams to resolve cost-related issues during product development and production.

The Successful Applicant

  1. Education & Experience
    • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Business, or a related field.
    • 2 - 3 years of experience in cost estimation or manufacturing engineering.
    • Experience in semiconductor equipment, precision machining, or contract manufacturing is preferred.
  2. Technical & Professional Skills
    • Strong understanding of CNC machining, sheet metal fabrication, welding, and mechanical assembly.
    • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (complex formulas, pivot tables, data analysis, macros).
    • Excellent analytical, numerical, and problem-solving abilities.
    • Ability to manage multiple RFQs or projects under tight deadlines.
    • Strong English communication and presentation skills, including reporting to senior management.
    • Familiarity with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and cost estimation tools is a plus.
    • High attention to detail with strong organizational skills.
