The Costing Manager is responsible for overseeing product costing, manufacturing cost control, inventory valuation, and profitability analysis across production operations. This role plays a key part in driving cost efficiency, supporting commercial and operational decisions, and ensuring the accuracy of costing data, financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting activities.

Job Description

  • Lead and manage all product costing and inventory valuation activities, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards and internal policies.
  • Monitor actual manufacturing costs against standards, identify key variances, and provide actionable recommendations to improve profitability.
  • Oversee costing by product, production order, and customer order to support operational and commercial decision-making.
  • Manage product cost calculations, standard cost updates, BOM reviews, and manufacturing overhead allocations.
  • Partner with Production, Procurement, Warehouse, and Finance teams to ensure data integrity and accurate cost reporting.
  • Lead budgeting, forecasting, and cost planning processes by providing detailed cost analysis and business insights.
  • Evaluate make-versus-buy opportunities, cost-saving initiatives, and process improvement projects to enhance operational efficiency.
  • Manage inventory costing controls, oversee stock counts and reconciliations, and ensure timely resolution of inventory variances.



The Successful Applicant

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in Cost Accounting within a manufacturing environment, including at least 2 years in a supervisory or managerial role.
  • Strong expertise in product costing, inventory valuation, standard costing, variance analysis, and manufacturing cost control.
  • Proven experience supporting budgeting, forecasting, and business performance analysis.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.
