About Our Client

Our client is a express delivery and logistics company

Job Description

The Operations Specialist will drive critical improvement projects across four core pillars of end-to-end delivery network:

  • Mastering the Middle Mile: Optimizing linehaul routes through data-driven route architecture, milk runs, load-building algorithms, and connecting order planning to freight execution on a unified orchestration platform to eliminate empty miles and reduce facility dwell times.
  • Unifying & Orchestrating Last-Mile Execution: Transitioning from basic route planning to active delivery orchestration. Deploying hybrid fleet allocation (in-house vs. regional/gig partners) and AI-driven automated exception handling to maintain SLAs while managing costs.
  • Connecting Commercial Controls to Operations: Bridging the gap between execution and billing. Tightening warehouse-to-transport handoffs to prevent detention charges, structuring tariffs for clear auditable invoicing, and analyzing true Cost-to-Serve per client and lane.
  • Elevating Asset Management to a Strategic Function: Transforming physical assets (trucks, trailers, containers, yard equipment, robotics) into connected, intelligent nodes using GPS, telematics, geofencing, and automated lifecycle management.

The Successful Applicant

Experience & Mindset

  • 5-8 years of experience in logistics, express parcel delivery, e-commerce fulfillment, 3PL, or supply chain operations, with a proven track record of leading process transformation projects.
  • Methodology expertise in Lean, Six Sigma, Kaizen, or structured problem-solving methodologies to deliver measurable improvements in cost, quality, productivity, or SLA compliance.
  • Comfort in ambiguity-able to take a complex or vague operational issue, investigate root causes independently, and deliver a structured, actionable implementation plan.

Technical Capabilities

  • Advanced Excel & BI Skills: Ability to manipulate large datasets, build dynamic operational dashboards, and present insights clearly using tools such as Excel, Power BI, or Tableau.
  • Logistics Systems Fluency: Comfortable working with operational software ecosystems including TMS, WMS, AMS, automated routing engines, OMS, and ticketing/CRM platforms.
  • Project Management Rigor: Skilled in managing milestones, dependencies, risks, and stakeholder communication using modern tools (e.g., Jira, Asana, MS Project, Smartsheet).
