The successful candidate will be a decisive, high-energy manufacturing leader who is comfortable operating at pace without sacrificing attention to detail, quality or safety. They will have the ability to move quickly from problem identification to decision and execution, while establishing the systems, processes and leadership disciplines required for a high-performing manufacturing operation.

Job Description

  • Take overall operational leadership of the new manufacturing facility.
  • Establish a strong culture of safety, quality, accountability, urgency and continuous improvement.
  • Ensure production achieves required targets for safety, quality, delivery, cost and productivity.
  • Establish robust daily production management and escalation processes.
  • Oversee commissioning and operational readiness of new manufacturing areas.
  • Ensure machinery, utilities, material flow and supporting infrastructure are production-ready.
  • Establish operational processes before volume production commences.
  • Establish a strong right-first-time quality culture across the facility.
  • Ensure manufacturing processes consistently meet customer, engineering and product requirements.
  • Ensure safety is treated as a core operational value.
  • Establish strong site safety leadership and visible management presence on the factory floor.
  • Establish a robust preventive and predictive maintenance strategy.
  • Establish maintenance KPIs covering equipment reliability, downtime and preventive maintenance completion.
  • Oversee manufacturing and infrastructure projects associated with the continued development of the site.
  • Ensure projects are properly planned, risk-assessed and executed.

The Successful Applicant

  • Practical capability in managing plant operations within an engineering and manufacturing setting.
  • Experience coordinating production and engineering activities.
  • Ability to review operational performance and resolve day-to-day production issues.
  • Knowledge of production planning and resource coordination.
  • Ability to set priorities and maintain focus on delivery requirements.
  • Clear communication skills for working across operational teams.
