The Investment Associate / Senior Associate will support the investment team in sourcing, evaluating, and reviewing investment opportunities in Vietnam. You will also have opportunities to engage directly with founders, management teams, advisors, and other external stakeholders throughout the investment process, while working collaboratively with the broader investment team across Southeast Asia.

Job Description

Research & Investment Sourcing

  • Screen and evaluate investment opportunities, including calls and meetings with prospective companies, sell-side advisors, and other relevant ecosystem players.
  • Understand and assess business models, growth drivers, and key investment opportunities and risks.
  • Work with existing portfolio companies to understand business performance, growth initiatives, and key areas of focus.
  • Build and maintain relationships with founders, management teams, industry experts, and peers across the VC/PE ecosystem.
  • Maintain a database of investment opportunities and relevant company and market information.
  • Monitor portfolio company performance through regular review of financial and operational reports and interaction with management teams.



Investment Analysis

  • Conduct market and industry research, including market sizing, competitive landscape, industry trends, and growth opportunities.
  • Conduct commercial and business due diligence, including customer and management references and customer research.
  • Analyze company performance and growth potential, including revenue growth, margins, unit economics, and scalability.
  • Gather and analyze information from target companies, industry experts, customers, and other relevant sources.
  • Assess competitors and market positioning to understand the company's competitive advantages and potential risks.
  • Evaluate management teams, including track record, capabilities, and key-person risks.
  • Conduct valuation analysis and financial modelling to assess investment returns and key investment assumptions.
  • Support the preparation of investment memos, presentations, and other materials for internal investment discussions.
  • Support the investment team throughout the due diligence and execution process.

The Successful Applicant

  • Bachelor's degree from a top-tier university; a Master's degree in a relevant field is an advantage.
  • 7-10 years of experience in growth equity, private equity, investment banking, strategy consulting or related advisory roles.
  • Strong understanding of the Vietnamese market and business environment, with the ability to identify and evaluate investment opportunities.
  • Fluent in Vietnamese and English, with strong communication skills.
  • Strong financial modelling, valuation, and analytical skills.
  • Strong interest in investing, with excellent attention to detail and ability to form independent views.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, work ethic, and learning agility
  • Proactive and comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
