The firm advises clients on the protection, prosecution, and strategic management of patents and related IP rights, supporting innovative businesses from startups through to multinational corporations across a wide range of industries.

Job Description

The Senior Associate / Partner will be responsible for leading and growing the firm's patents practice in Vietnam. This is a senior role combining technical patent expertise, client advisory work, business development, and practice leadership within a well-established international platform.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading the firm's patents practice in Vietnam and overseeing local patent matters
  • Acting as a senior patents practitioner and representative before relevant Vietnamese authorities
  • Managing and prosecuting patent applications and related advisory work
  • Ensuring compliance with all local regulatory and professional requirements
  • Contributing to market growth strategies and strengthening the firm's local presence
  • Building and maintaining strong relationships with domestic and international clients
  • Driving business development initiatives and identifying new revenue opportunities
  • Mentoring and supporting the development of junior patent professionals as the practice grows
  • Collaborating closely with regional and international colleagues on cross-border client matters and firm initiatives



This role suits a senior IP professional who values autonomy and leadership while operating within a well-supported global firm structure.

The Successful Applicant

Key requirements include:

  • A registered Intellectual Property Agent in Vietnam, qualified to practise in patents (mandatory)
  • Senior Associate or Partner-level experience within an IP firm or relevant professional services environment
  • Strong technical and procedural expertise in patent prosecution and patents-related advisory matters
  • Experience handling international clients and cross-border patent work
  • Proven ability to manage client relationships and contribute meaningfully to business development
  • Demonstrated leadership capability, with experience mentoring or supervising others preferred
  • Commercially astute, strategic, and comfortable operating at senior level
  • Fluent in Vietnamese and English
